I took these two side by side as a comparison. The '43 is one of the earlier white glue for dou and the '44 is one of the earlier skm for dou which started during 'ee'.

Me too. My understanding was the plum color occur more often with spring steel such as extractors and bolt stop springs. But shows up on bolt bodies and barrels too. Also seems more common with the later czech guns.
 
great restore on the DOU44 from sporter lots of time collecting the correct parts looks very nice now!!!
