    Beautiful, Ham!

    My own dou 42 98k, 5235b, is later than yours, yet has the earlier style "H" shaped milled upper band.

    Added on edit: Oops! Didn't see the "i" in Craig's dou 42 serial, so the "b" block would be earlier, I guess.

    Thanks guys. TSMG, that's not unusual, but in my experience the H banded dou.42s are much more difficult to find than these speed milled closed bands.

    Those are great rifles Ham! Ive got a dou 42 e block k98 and a j block 24(t) but theyre nowhere as nice as yours.

    Interesting thought on the H band, my e block has one. I Just assumed the early ones received H bands and the later speed milled... unless youre talking about the majority of dou 42 k98s youve personally seen had a speed milled band.

    tsmgguy, It looks like Ham's 98 is an 'i' block...so yours would be earlier?
