    Default Simson Gew98- 98b - K98 depot rifle

I've had a stroke of luck lately and picked up another oddball like the S/42 G bnz4. This one is a XX (Twentieth) district marked depot build rifle, built using an unused Simson Suhl 98b receiver. Built mostly from new armorers spares, it's all matched. Depot marked on the ball of the wrist as well, see pics!

I'll have to take it apart again for the whole barrel code, but it's 40 dated and dsh marked.

I have one of these depot guns also. Serial number XX 7907. Receiver is S/147 dated 1938. Barrel code is 660 122 39 SI. Waa623. TG is Gew 98 type. FP and upper band marked 1. Small c on stock keel and also proofed but hard to make out.
XX is Graudenz. Bolt does not match gun but matching to itself. Not RC or import marked. All other parts matching.

Yeah, I think wow about covers it.

How is it marked on the top of the receiver? What is the rune-ish looking mark on the side?

The X and 7 die stamps on your gun and mine are identical. The only markings on my bolt other than the serial number (no letter) are 1 and w18.
    1940 manufacture on both guns?
