One of my regular gun stores had a K98 marked ax 41 for sale on the web today.
The store owner is no K98 specialist, all he could tell me is that it was reciever marked ax 41 and that it looked like it was matching minus the bolt. It also came with a bayonet.
I asked him to place it on hold for me.
The asking price $450 CAN with bayonet. Seeing that RC's are going for $450-600 CAN the price is probably going to be okay.
I am interested in this rifle as you don't hear about the ax (Eufurt/Erma) rifles as this was their last year of full production.
Are K98's with recievers marked ax rare? scarce? un-commom? or Common?
How about the price for a bolt mis-match?
I have to see the rifle still but it sounds promising.
Anyone know what the proper configuration should be and what I should be looking for?
Thank you
