Nazi era Mauser with Weimar eagles?

The title says it all. I've got a 1935 JP Sauer and Sohn that has Weimar eagles. Receiver code is S/147/g in small script on the top of the receiver. Whats the deal? why isnt it Nazi Eagles?

That appears to be correct for that year of production. I believe 1937 was the first year of the Nazi style eagle.

The changeover to Nazi Proof marks took time. I have a 1937 S/42 K98 and a 1939 Lugar that have Wiermar Eagles. The changeover was not uniform as I understand and different manufacturers started using the Nazi Eagle at different times.

Attached are two links from the Picture Reference Index of some S/147/G code K98ks like yours, with the Weimar Eagles rather than the Nazi style eagles that were introduced later on (as mentioned by K98 Man and KKW22cal). To elaborate further, there are examples of depot rebuilds that utilized the Weimar proof even after the war began. I've attached a link to a thread containing an example below if you're interested in learning more.

Hope this helped, and welcome to the forum!

Totally normal. As stated, the changeover took a while among the various factories. And it was even a gradual changeover within factories, so there are rifles with both Nazi and Weimar stamps alongside each other, like my 1937 JP Sauer & Sohn:

That's incredible! I've never seen a rifle with both stamps. Congrats on that! And thanks for the info too, it's always a pleasure to learn
