G.41 duv b block

THunter

Well-known member
Looks like im a new member of the G.41 club. Been looking for a nice example for a good price for almost 6 years now. Story on this rifle was it was a walk in at a gunshop in San Andreas, CA. The owner "simply wanted to get rid of it". All matching, unmessed with closet gun. It was full of closet dust, dust bunnies, etc. Came with a nice original sling too. Clean duffle cut under the lower band with a few minor issues. Definitely worth the wait id say!

That is very beautiful!

That is quite a rifle to want to get rid of....you are very lucky to pick it up!

This one was listed on gunbroker. I never thought Id get one for a decent price off there out of all places. But the auction had a weird ending time.

The auction "ended" on a Tuesday night at 11:30PM PST (2:30AM EST) but I got into a bidding war with somebody on the east coast until about 1:45AM PST (3:45AM EST). I guess I had the different time zones to my advantage. I was pretty tired the next day at work but It was definitely well worth it.

VERY NICE.. great early Lubeck rifle..!! Despite what others may say auctions don't always heed the highest price when selling. That's a great deal and thanks for sharing the auction link. I don't think I saw that one ? Note how the lower band and sling is on backwards ?? 1st for me seeing this..

The difference in pictures is incredible.

Your photos are 7k photos. His are 4k photos. You put this rifle up with 100 photos and there will be a feeding frenzy.

Awesome auction for you!

Great rifle Thunter looks like your patience paid off glad to see you add a nice piece to your collection. Lets just hope I find one for my collection one day these pieces have always interested me. And I have too got into long bidding war with someone in to the early hours of the morning. But coffee helps when works calls just a couple hours later though.

Yeah, I never saw it either. I scower gunbroker pretty often too. I usually look for G/K.43 stuff and forget to check G.41 stuff from time to time. Dang that was a super price tag too.

Very nice piece. Same here, didn't see it. It's always a good idea for a seller to add what it's NOT K43. :hail:

The little dink in the muzzle cone , is a prick punch for the threads on the two pieces of the cone. There is a cone and its screwed onto a nut.

Thank you for the comments everyone. Like I said I never thought id own a decent one without paying through the nose. So if I can find one...so can you! :happy0180:

If you get a chance, could you get photos of the bolt group and the buttplate please? Thanks, Kelly:thumbsup:

Definitely. When I get the chance Ill break down the bolt internals/gas system and take pics, along with the buttplate.

Thank you, I was wondering what that was and I didn't realize it was made of two pieces.

When I took the rifle apart I discovered the gas system was absolutely FILTHY. It was definitely shot post war with the unrepaired dufflecut. I broke the rifle down and soaked the barreled receiver and gas system in Kroil for 48 hours and gave each part a careful cleaning. I also discovered the rear recoil spring was broken. Luckily the broken spring didn't cause any damage to the receiver/bolt group. I would imagine whoever brought it into the gunshop was the one that shot it (and to my fortune decided it was a "poor shooting rifle") and decided to "get rid of it."

I took apart the trigger/firing group too. After the fact I wish I didn't. It was a royal PITA to get it all back together correctly but now atleast I know.
