Picture order's f'd up cuz I had it apart first and downloaded pictures according to how I wanted them but my computer said NO?

That deep ding in the top of the receiver's "6" took some doing..not "rough handling" or from being too deep the "pile"..lots of inertia to dig that deep.

I'm confident this rifle took a beating the last day it was being handled for it's intended use. It has a couple of hard dings on the forward end too. Of course this is speculation.

IB, What is the right receiver acceptance? I can't make out the first one? Typically these are Z-M made receivers, e/116 or e/359 first position, but this one looks possibly e/214 x3, - which is rarely seen, but I have recorded half a dozen (e/214 x3) this early.

Thanks IB, very helpful, I suspect the receivers with e/214 in the first position are Suhl made, but which firm would be tougher to tell. Mike might have revealed it in his book, not sure off hand, but I can tell you these e/214 x3 are far from common compared to the Z-M (Walther) receivers.

None of the documents revealed a receiver supplier other than Walther, but it seems possible to me that JP Sauer made them themselves, they certainly had the ability.
