I thought I'd post some pictures here before I move this along the road.
It's quite a nice K98k-ZF41 made on a late l-block byf44. The piece has all matching serial numbers (on bolt components, other parts are correctly unnumbered). It has the late bolt with round vent holes, but they left off the "l" letter suffix when they numbered the bolt. Safety is E/37 marked from Sauer parts transferred to and used by Mauser. Ejector box is S/42 marked, which I understand is not uncommon on late 1944 production byf K98k's. The rear sight is marked with an eagle over 18, although I couldn't really get a good picture of the marking. Triggerguard is made without provision for the locking screws. The stock is the extra-thick variant marked with the "C" and "*" as made by Dresdner Tischfabrik.
Rear sight ZF41 base does not have the eagle/135 marking, which I have seen is appropriate for this particular production range. Unfortunately, the head of the rear sight base retaining screw has been snapped off. The scope rig appears to be appropriate for late-war production and the mount is unnumbered. The scope is a less-common "cag" marked piece.
When purchased, the rifle didn't have a sight hood, muzzle cap, sling, or cleaning rod, so I added those, including a very nice dla44 marked sling purchased from a forum member here. When I purchased it, it had an earlier ZF41 scope rig mounted to it (with can matched to the mount, which itself was for another, earlier rifle). I subsequently acquired a more appropriate unnumbered ZF41 rig and put it on here. The optics are quite nice and clear with just a few small dirt flecks inside.
