very nice, thanks. love the use of "left over" parts...bolt carrier.

You could hope for a matching mount?!

That is exactly my theory...I think these bolt carriers are different than other late carriers without the hold open latch

I consider these their own "type"...notice how the forging is much different and "finer", the top of the carrier is a different shape, and there is no reinforcing rib

I think these were very early carriers that were never finished, never had the take down bolt hold open latch area milled out, were in storage and used up at the end

compare to a "45" marked late war carrier with no hold open, purposely made and made late in the war, not reused like I think the type on this gun are

...am I making any sense:shocked:

and I do not think that when these are left unnumbered and used later in the war that they are armorers replacement bolts, at least not these late type....it makes no sense that this gun would need an armorers replacement bolt, it doesnt even look fired, and if so why would they use such a crude unfinished one? I think these late guns that have these on them left the factory that way

I know where there is another d block in this same condition a few numbers away, almost exactly the same condition, it is a standard forged receiver though, dual bolt guide and guess what the same type of carrier...hopefully Ill own that one too some day soon!
