m1912 Steyr-Hahn question

I have this 08 converted m1912 Steyr I've posted in the past, I was wondering if anyone else had one of these 08 conversions and could confirm something for me. My other two I have that are still in 9x23 will load 8 rounds, my converted one will only load 7. the 8th round just barely misses fitting. now I know the case diameter of 9x19 is slightly larger than 9x23 so the fact that one less fits makes sense.

Have you tried shoving 8 9x19 rounds into the nonconverted ones? It is not like you need to fire them; use snap caps.

Ive had a couple. Never tried loading or shooting it.. good question though. I would of thought if anything they would shorten the spring to fit the wider round.

Good call on that one Wayne. I had a spare mag spring in my parts box, clipped half a coil off it and now it will load all 8 rounds. Still functions flawlessly, no jams or the such. You'd think the Germans would have done that when they converted since the ammo comes on 8 round clips. Either that or they did and this gun missed it for some reason.
