    You are right, your rifle was assembled short before the transition time at BLM to the cupped butt plate, which was around July 1941.

    Some additional data of your rifle would be very interesting, I don't know if you saw this thread "K98k Laminate Stock Date and Supplier Codes": Link

    I think there is the letter "P" stamped on the stock behind the grip ball.

    It would be great if you would remove the butt plate and take a photo of the stock completion date code and laminate supplier. I assume there is a stamp like this "Bu 2 26 41". I can't tell the exact day, but my guess should be very close.

    Just added my info to the relevant thread. Looks like this stock was made on the longest day of the year.
