    Default 42 1939 heer

Beautiful, not mint, but really, really nice early war, "d" block. Used very little, looks like a guard station gun kept in a barracks. Stock dated 26. April. 1939 inside. My photos do not do it justice. Enjoy.

If I could have only one rifle in my collection, I'm thinking this one would be it. Gorgeous!

Compare with Mauser S/42 1936 Heer. Waffenamts have switched to 3rd reich style eagles, mostly the same set up though with part numbering, handguard top waffenamt, etc. Fire blued parts are gone though.

    Gerard,
Very nice. The Oberndorf 1939s are on the top of my list.
