My first Mauser, but still have to wait another six months

Recently bought my first K98 with a scope. It's a 308 conversion and to be honest that's all i know about it. Bought it from a dealer website.

I can pick it up in april 2017 because off the Dutch laws on owning weapons, i already have a Krico for about a half year, and you can't have two guns in the first year on your permit.
If anyone can give any info based on the picture it would be nice.

Scope and mount are reproduction...cant see what is on the receiver ring but it looks to be scrubbed/polished off as does the bolt stem...not sure what maker it is...not much in way of clues with those pics.

Thanks for the info, took some pictures at the gunshop yesterday, can't take it home until may next year. If i get it home i will take some more pictures. How can you tell the scope is a reproduction?

T How can you tell the scope is a reproduction?

Lack of any external marking and it looks brand spanking new..looks as if the whole gun has probably been scrubbed and renumbered just from what little I can see.

I know that you are aware that the barrel has been swapped but it looks to be a total redo... "ala Mitchell Mausers " rebuilds.

Dont know if that told you that or not... but if they didnt , they should of.

Thanks for the info,

I bought it from a licensed dealer, and for the price i bought for i did know it could't never be a original german sniper riffle! I just wanted an (old) riffle to have some fun with on the shooting range. And one off the pro's for this gun is the 308 barrel and the cheaper ammo. That its not an original K98 in not an problem for me, maybe in the future i will save a lot off money for an original one but there are also some others on my wanted list. 1 30M1 carbine, 2 mossin nagant PU (original)

The only visible external markings on the gun that i could find are only the 2 numbers 477! no factorymark or something else.

Most important thing for me is that i'm happy with the gun. And seeing the prices on the web for a K98 with a scope in a non original state i did certainly not pay to much.

And as soon as i can pick it up (168 days, 23 hours to go) i will take it apart clean it and take some better pictures

Upper part for the scope mount

On my Mauser there's a repro scope and mount, now i'm looking for the top part of that scope mount. Does anyone know where to buy those(in europe).
