Hello thanks for sharing a great bunch of Hoerster products since 1934 to 1944,mainly the early production is interesting, similar as 43/44 and riveted production.Congratulation on it.
Some notes
-by the Hoerster 40, 5481u i believe the wooden grips are replacements, should be WaA883 stamped these are WaA253 dw proofed, their are reported Hoerster 40 with wood grips only reworks not origin condition
-42asw 9154c was reported some years ago by Bill K. old BCN member
-similar 44asw,5074e in previous Roger A. BCN member piece
-44asw 0086ee could be there was weakly stamp 44asw,that was most likelly refilled spures not typical for mashinelly production on ricasso,
-44sgx 2586/5 ii is probably a factory missmatch,or done by GIs in depot?
-the counterparts to Your missmatches i have no reported unfortunally
b.r.Andy

ok

I agree with your coments Andy about the wood grips of the Hörter 1940, they have been period replaced.
About the 0086 ee no trace of the asw 44, but due its bad state I couldn't tell you if ever it was there.
Many years collecting, I'm becoming old:facepalm:
2586/5 I buyed from an US dealer so I don't know its origin, could factory mistake or GI done?
Thanks for your inputs

Very nice! You had me jumping to the end to see how late yours went! Some very nice late ones there as well!

How rare are those 40 asw? They seem to not come up often at all!

Looking high and low for 40asw

asw 40 is dificult to find code but not scarce !.

I have seen only one for sale since I started collecting, and I snoozed for about 30 minutes and lost it. I might have another cornered, but it is not a sure thing.

Was it matching? Really bad if it was!
I bought the only one I have ever seen up on eBay when I was still buying, but it was not matching. It is the Horster bayonet I have encountered the least!

Interesting, unfortunally cleaned the ricasso area with remove rust, what is strange it looks like crossguard is welded on blade? or there is dirt in that area? b.r.Andy

Crossguard welded on the Blade ?
Yes dirt was present, I tried to clean it up !
Later I will post some photos, but the Blade is difficult to photography as it shines with the flash and without it is not clear

Please make outside the pictures wout flash. Otherside was cleaned with steelbrush, as visible on picture nr.2 with one wire. thanks.b.r.Andy
PS i saw it on other pieces too, is possible the crossguard was soldered or welded as the tolerances were larger because of crude mashining of blade, question is the crossguard is here secured by 2 rivets or by welding?

Thanks for additional details, the one side it looks like a brass soldering on the area of touch between crossguard and blade ,mainly unfinished from lower part of ricasso. The area was later cleaned with steel brush. The fixing was realised per 2 rivets probably. The reason could be large tolerances by crude mashining of both parts. Was observed on few other 45sgx too. b.r.Andy
