Interesting, unfortunally cleaned the ricasso area with remove rust, what is strange it looks like crossguard is welded on blade? or there is dirt in that area? b.r.Andy

Crossguard welded on the Blade ?
Yes dirt was present, I tried to clean it up !
Later I will post some photos, but the Blade is difficult to photography as it shines with the flash and without it is not clear

Please make outside the pictures wout flash. Otherside was cleaned with steelbrush, as visible on picture nr.2 with one wire. thanks.b.r.Andy
PS i saw it on other pieces too, is possible the crossguard was soldered or welded as the tolerances were larger because of crude mashining of blade, question is the crossguard is here secured by 2 rivets or by welding?

Thanks for additional details, the one side it looks like a brass soldering on the area of touch between crossguard and blade ,mainly unfinished from lower part of ricasso. The area was later cleaned with steel brush. The fixing was realised per 2 rivets probably. The reason could be large tolerances by crude mashining of both parts. Was observed on few other 45sgx too. b.r.Andy
