Painted vs. blued G/K.43 mags

I ran into a super nice blued avx K43 mag yesterday and now I have it. I am trying to figure out where they fit in manufacture with; are they early, mid or late manufacture? Why they were not painted like the rest of them (well, besides the phosphated ones)? I may have missed it in the book "Hitler's Garands" as I was going through the book kind of fast.

As far as I know avx are always blued.

Yeah, I am pretty sure you are right. Wonder why they blued their mags and the other companies painted and phosphated them?

Late rqs is blued too. So who knows the why.

Most likely it was simply what they were set up to do.

As Brian Kowalski is aware, I have a blued "awj" magazine. Its the only one I have ever seen.

Well, I figured any blued one is kind of rare but an avx may be "rarer"?

avx is rare as it is. But as far as I've seen in original trim, all are blued

avx is a rare code only seen one for sale before in person and it was repainted by someone.

To actually go back to your OP, we know any "k43" marked mag will be at least after the mid year nomenclature change from G43 to K43. So mid 44+ would be the production window for an avx k43 mag.
