I finally finished this one..It was on a table at the show. Looked horrible. It was stained a red color..Metal looked crappy.. I was able to see through the exterior to see a 95% rifle and an un sanded stock with clear proofs.. So now we have a super nice no letter block byf45 full kriegs modell.. Enjoy. I noticed where the sling keeper area was routed out you can see the rounded out spots where they went to deep. The waa135 was clear in the rough area on the heel of the stock..

Looks great! I haven't seen anything worth a second look at a gun show in years. Very nice find. Very nice example.

I was lucky the stain was a modern minwax type I assume. I whiped right off with laqure thinner. Actually 4 treatments at four different times. Then I let the stock bake out in the sun to bleach it a bit. I was going to steam it to raise the grain but felt it wasnt nessisary. I added a little age to the wood. "secret process".. I'm happy with the way it came out..

Nope

Sorry, I dont. I was going to but, got to worked up about getting it apart and finished..Titan saw it and asked me if it was the same rifle. As I replied yes!! It really didnt look near this nice..I was able to work a trade and some $$ for this one..Got rid of a real stinker too:facepalm: He knew what he was getting he was no newbie.. For those who would question my morals..

safety

This is the bolt I posted earlier. I forgot to picture the saftey. E/37 saure supplied blued.
The rest of the bolt appears to be mauser oberndorf produced. No waffens just the entwined "RW" on all the parts. All phosphate less the Plumb extractor.. A reaction to either phosphate or blue.

Nice safety...

yes

It was John, One always cant expect to find mint rifles lying around. One sometimes has to see through the damage done and know whats below. It's a call to make on a case to case basis. The olny reason he was selling it was he was the guy who bought the flat new one at the last show. He told me that. He also said he paid 2500.00 for it. I never saw it nor did many others. I refurbed this for Mikey C. This was the second byf45 we pulled out of there with issues/ The other being a zf41 rifle that was sporterized but matching and was also restored.. Thanks for all the positive comments. There's nothing that compairs to saving and bringing a piece of history back to its former glory..

I looked at this one on Friday. You did a super job! Looks much better now!
The guy who sold the other piece at the May show for $400 will be back in October. I'm sure we will be checking his table!

Wow

I wish I could have seen the before pics. I missed Allentown. That is a stunning gun. You cannot tell it ever was anything but what it is now. Great rescue.
