Stock Date

Any stock date behind buttplate?

Nice rig!

Bruce it is not legible if there is one behind the butt plate. Photos included.

Hello. Here are your requested photos. I do not see a E as you have pictured and there is no number on the side of the receiver. Only markings are in the photos I am providing. There is what appears to be an e on bottom of barrel and bottom of the receiver. I hope this helps with your question.

Stock Marks

Nice example.

Is there any marks for the stock other then the serial? Been looking for matching Ar42 examples, to help get a idea of what to look for in hopes of reuniting my AR 42 with a proper stock.

Only stock marks I could find besides the serial are included in photos. I hope this helps.

I have had several like this where marking is under brown stuff....Number is probably under that schmutz....:thumbsup:

Hello Jack. Not sure it ever had one or maybe you are right about that. I have not seen photos of stocks with the butt plates removed from AR 42 Rifles posted anywhere else, except for the two in this thread.

From what I've been able to ascertain that could be a tricky one to match up. I read Borsigwalde switched to cupped buttplates in 42 so any matching example could really have either
