If you are lucky enough to find one truly matching here in the US, most of those have been refinished. This is an excellent example to use as a baseline to understand what ayf finish and numbering look like. MP.40, IMHO, is about the best NFA / German WW2 you can have. They are fun to shoot, cheap to shoot, hard to wear out, and you can have a complete spare set of parts around your tube to shoot so as to not damage matching parts. You'll never (literally) wear out the tube. This is an excellent baseline example of an excellent MP.40, about as good as they get. What's truly cool is it is apparent that the factory staking is still present on the barrel washer, thus the barrel has evidently never been unscrewed/removed from the receiver.
