Inherited a German used Star B and it sat in the safe for two years and didnt know it

Grips are made from downed aircraft windows. usually there would be a pin up or sweet heart picture under them.
 
The holster looks to be some sort of modified or commercial 1911 holster for sure.. Im sure the vet or someone removed the photos
from under the grips before it was sold. You could get some period photos and trim them and stick something in there for show.
 
I have one just like the one on the first page, but probably not as good shape. The Ñ marking just above the trigger indicates it was made in 1943. During ww2 the German high command didn't see the need to waffenmark these imported pistols. Apparently they were used for police, supply and rear units. So they probably didn't see much action. They are a cool piece of history nonetheless.
