Default very unusual 1871 (marked H G Cordes?)

Appears to follow the lines of an 1871, apart from rear sight.

Some kind of commercial I would presume, but have never seen another...

H.G. Cordes from Bremerhaven was a gunsmith who also developed stuff like whaling canons.
    What cal. is it?
If you don't mind, I can contact Dr. Storz from the Bavarian Army Museum who wrote a great book about the Mod.71 rifles. He might know more.

    Hello,

Thank you for the information. The listing doesn't state a calibre, or any information other than 'mauser M 1871'.....

From the pictures this rifle doesn't appear to bear any military proof marks, nor is it one of the known suppliers.

I can't find any information relating to the rifle, if you could I would be very interested to know more. Not sure if I will buy the rifle or not, certainly it would be an interesting and unusual example to own
