Very nice! I have a H block Port that is close to yours not nearly as nice though. My cleaning rod is numbered matching, curious if yours is as I thought they stopped numbering cleaning rods at this time.

Wow, abolutly stunning condition! It really makes you wonder how does a rifle survive all these years like that?

It is unnumbered and certainly original. It is possible someone 'corrected' yours? I don't recall seeing any others with matching rods.

Really Nice Port. K98!!! Perfect Condition!!!

I have a Port. K98 Serielnumber in the G Block, Cleaning Rod is unnumbered, everything else is numbered.

By mine the Screws are numbered with the last two digits of the Serialnumber, when did they stopping that?

We have ALOT of these in Canada and I've never seen a. Unnerved Rod. Maybe added by a port
Armorer or someone else who knows.

F block had screws numbered it seems, H blocks don't. I'd assume it stopped somewhere in between.

Nice find Buddy.

Impossible to improve on this rifle and bayonet. Looks like it came out the factory door yesterday. Tremendous catch!

Port. 41

Nice rig.
The early part of the contract will have numbered rods, likely any early contract rifle with the full stock WaA and Army acceptance inspection group.

Once the marking and numbering were simplified in late 1941, those numbers were deleted.

Guys remember these rifles were produced from 1941 and continued well into 1942, hence the large contrast in acceptance markings and serialization on small parts.

Fabulous condition rifle! Wonder where it was hiding all these years? I agree, that Coat of Arms is magnificent as well. Amazing craftsmanship for an implement of war! :hail:
