VC Schilling 1917

"Ach du lieber!"
Picked this one up recently directly out of a WWII vet estate. He had several other things which i acquired as well and it turned out to be an interesting story, but that's for another day. The rifle is all matching except the safety which was missing so I put an armorer on for photos, otherwise exactly as found complete with muzzle cover and matching rod. Interesting in that it has a beech stock but walnut handguard. This one rivals the condition of my Amberg and is exactly how i like em

An extraordinary rifle Rob, truly as nice as you said, - actually surpasses my expectations!

As I said earlier, I have always found VCS the toughest of the three to actually find, of the Suhl Consortium, it was the only one I never found when I was collecting them. Though as I also said to you and the article i wrote on them, they do seem to show up in my trends work roughly in the same numbers. This is actually the first k-block VCS I have recorded, several JPS are known, four to be exact, and there are a couple CGH known.

We have already discussed this rifle, but Cyrus will be glad to add it to the reference thread, - and I received the emails, but mine to you bounce... at least the last one did twice. This is not uncommon, which Bruce and Mike are fully aware. Lousy internet connection/company or both.

Excellent pickup, congrats on a fine Gew98!

I've got a #90 safety, pm your shipping info & I'll get it out to you.

Mike I'm going start calling you feldmutze depot! We got our own Imperial armorer guys.

I still can't believe you found a matching rod for my 1916 JPS.

Sometimes when the stars line up close to a solar eclipse, things happen. The 2 Gew98 rods oldcorps posted for sale a few weeks ago matched up M37's '15 Simpson & my old salty '17 MO.
