Rust removal tips?

Gerst,
You missed your calling. You could make a million bucks selling on Gundoinker!

I neither collect nor sell. I have a three German rifles which will pass to my kids. Gunbroker is for knuckleheads.

Look, this forum has room for lots of Mauser lovers. Some are collectors who want historical accuracy. Others are people who just want a matching rifle. Still others just want a 98k, mixmaster or otherwise, but want it to look nice. There is room for us all here because this site is for honest people and that is our strength!

Well said.:happy0180:

Extended Kroil baths are your friend. After a few days scrub the affected areas with a toothbrush. Also, where do guys get your Kroil? I’ve always bought it from Amazon and haven’t seen it in any hardware stores locally.

Kroil's fine, but remember that on the can it says " Will penetrate areas as small as one millionth of an inch." That's much smaller than the pores on your skin, so be sure to keep it off your skin. :happy0180:
