Very decent, issue bayonet. Used to see these around now & then...but not in a long time. Nice score.
 
Hello Jack i am not expert, You should proof Vic Thomas articles on Gunboard or internet, anyway i assume the upper edge configuration is of early production, same as serial number stamped into wood, possible 1940/41? best regards,Andy

Production of this style apparently ended in very early 1941 (January according to Chumak), but production may have dragged on longer than that. The lack of a prefix on the grip scales might suggest later production, but its possible Factory No.314 (Tula) never included the prefix on their bayonets. I know Factory No.74 (Izhevsk) did so, but I've never seen a No.314 bayonet with a prefix.
