I have my hands on a 1918 Danzig Kar.98az with a K98k stock and a K98k two stage trigger group.
This rifle isn't my first Mauser, but it is the first one with a crappy feeling trigger.
It is supposed to be a two stage with a crisp break, but it has a heavy long single stage with seemingly different breaking points and the second stage is nonexistant.
I know the Kar 98s had a different angle of trigger, but the rifle I have is a K98k from the receiver down and should theoretically work without a hitch.
My question is, do the Kar98s have any differences in design that would misalign the trigger sear from the cocking piece?
I have thoroughly ensured that the that the cocking piece and the bolt sleeve are clean and smooth, the cocking piece is still squared off and not worn down, and the trigger group without the bolt in place feels smooth and both stages are noticeable.
I can provide specific pictures upon request.
