I am getting rid of excess pictures from my i-pad so I thought I would share some photographs of my former matching number 1941 Izhevsk svt40 Tokarev before I delete them. There have been some interesting posts recently involving svt 40 Tokarev rifles so I will add to the list. I was never able to determine if the rifle was a legitimate bring back, or a non SA marked imported rifle. Apparently not all Finnish captured rifles were SA marked, or for that matter rebuilt. It would make sense that a rifle in good working order would not need to be rebuilt (much like a small percentage of M1 Garands or larger percentage of M1 carbines were not rebuilt after world war 2). If the rifle was imported prior to import marking being required it would account for the absence of any import marks.
One of the traits of a Finnish captured gun is the stock is often sanded, but the stock could have just as easily been sanded by a former owner at some point so it could be either option. There is a line on the butt stock that is a result of a shooters pad having been left on there for some time, it is not a duffle cut repair.
The metal parts are all Izhevsk manufactured in good condition and are appropriate for 1941 production style rifle. The gas regulator has not been resized with a 2.0 setting which was done by the Finnish army. I have taken pictures of some of the various markings since there are some knowledgeable people on this forum when it comes to svt40 rifles who might be able to provide additional insight. Any information that could be provided is appreciated for education purposes and for my own curiosity as well. Thank you.
