Most expensive RC I've ever bought - ce41 VN capture

The rank was not necessarily a typo.MSGT E-7's and SFC E-6's did exist in the Army at one time. One of my Platoon Sgt's in Vietnam was an SFC E-6 who was recalled from retirement.

Interesting. They may have changed ranks by 1972. Then a MSGT was an E-8 and SFC was an E-7. I was always trying to climb that latter, RHIP. I hate I misplaced my little notebook from 72 which showed all ranks, their symbols/insigna, etc. in all services. It also had a little English/Vietnamese language guide. Pretty cool. Now where is that thing?

RCs from Nam are a treasure IMO. This is one of the best I have seen.

Here’s another example of a VN bringback RC rig that you may find interesting. It has a handwritten letter attached; the first paragraph of which describes how the rifle was obtained.

I forgot-on the back of the Headquarters Document there is a map showing where to find the “Statistical Branch”- the “Statistical Branch” being the office that issued the documents necessary for obtaining the rifle.

Wow. All that paperwork certainly tells a sweet story. Lot's of hoops to jump through. Thanks for sharing that.
