AC 44 K43 ball on bolt

Is is it common feature that bolt has a kind of ball on top of it and corresponding cut in receiver? What was the purpose for this kind of improvement, for e bolt stability?

The only rifle I saw this ball on bolt is my K43 AC44 n block.

No, never seen before. We need more pictures of the bolt. Front, rear, side views, etc.
 
That is odd? It also looks like part of the bolt's rear is missing? Does it look machined to remove or damaged?
