Kar98B restoration update

Repo Field Gear Collector
I finished this up last year but never got around to taking new pictures. I ended up finding a stock down the road from me on another rifle that it didn’t belong to. I was also talked out of the S28 bolt in it, which did not match this S28, and got a 98b bolt included so we were both happy. Now every part on this rifle is at least 98b if not an S28 marked part. Sling is of course a welser, he makes a great product by the way.

I agree, this is a fine project coming together! Another thing interesting about this rifle is it has a Spreewerke barrel, very early and very rarely seen.

Thanks, they’re a hard bolt to turn up, only way I could get this one was to trade an even harder bolt. I’ll keep an eye out as this is my only 98b project. I didn’t even need it but almost bid on another e6 bolt a few months ago, I don’t think there was even another bid on it when the auction closed and the new owner stole it for 160 I think :googlie

If you or anyone else runs across one let me know. I will surely pay a finders fee. LOL

Thanks Paul! I appreciate all your input on it along the way, I wouldn’t have known half as much about it without it
