All fake look at the eagle. Looks like it was carved out by a tool. Beside that when you see such a fake receiver marking it really doesn't matter anymore. Rifle is ruined.

What was the asking price just curious?

Not even worth a $100!

I would highly recommend doing alot more research before buying a SS contract rifle Flounder. If your in the market some do pop up for sale here in the trader. A buddy of mine here sold a nice one just a few months ago. But if your looking for one at the shows be careful. I saw quite a few fakes just last year at the SOS show.

I mean in 1944, things were getting pretty bad for the Germans, but not "dremel the markings into the receiver" bad...

He should say its made in a C-camp and the slave labor had to do the marking by hand. Thats one rare rifle.

I don't know with those pesky Russians knocking at the door the Germans didn't care anymore. "Hey Wilhelm bring me the dremel tool we had to scrap the font tools too make triggerguards."

The only parts I saw that are decently marked and don’t appear to be faked/ruined are the machined trigger guard and magazine floor plate. Otherwise someone put in one Hell of a lot of labor to generate this thing.
