It's a "Wehrpass" (military passport) of Alfred Schirrmeister, a machinist by trade. There's also a vacation document for family visits and a discharge document from Camp Friedland, a Brit run refugee camp in the heart of Germany for German nationals expelled from Eastern parts of the German Reich under Soviet and Polish control.
It looks like Schirrmeister fought at or around Montecassino and Ancona in Italy.
 
I forgot to mention that Friedland also processed German POWs returning from Russia.
I have to prepare my tax documents tonight but I will take another look at the Wehrpass and translate some more after my taxes are done.
 
Alfred Otto Schirmeister
Born on January 23, 1910 in Pulsnitz / Saxonia (just three kilometer away from the K98k stock manufacturer Dresdner Tischfabrik Hermann Menzel).
Occupation: Metalworker

From August 3, 1942 - December 15, 1942 he was at the Army-Armorer-School II in Offenburg / Baden at the "12th Unteroffizier war-training-course" for the training of soldiers in the armorer service. He completed the course successfully.
On June 1, 1942 he got promoted to Unteroffizier (the "12th war-training-course" was announced May 21, 1942 from the O.K.H Ch H Rüst u. BdE).

Training with K98k and PAK (anti-tank cannon) and there is written: "In the first place to use as: Armorer Unteroffizier".

He got the awards War Merit Cross 2nd class with Swords in 1943 and the War Merit Cross 1st class with Swords in 1944.
