Mauser Spandau 1917

Hello,

This thread about my Mauser Spandau 1917. I got this one from a friend of my dad after I went to a Militaria expo and came home empty handed. He gave this to me telling me that the barrel was welded shut and the firing pin was missing. 3 years later I noticed that its al there and that the gun would be ready to shoot after some cleaning. No worries I wont.
Anyone that can tell me what the three symbols mean on the right side?

Almost all numbers are the same except for the bolt and the firing pin unfortunatly. I still reloads very smooth wich is great.

Any info on this gun would be very welcome and tips on how to clean it.
I also have a Mauser Argentino 1891 (which I made a spread about). I am considering on selling one of them because student life is expensive :happy0180:
Anyone any idea how much this will be worth? And where could I sell this? Knowing that I live in Belgium close to Ghent. Having this fully functional gun without papers doesnt make me feel comfortable and it would be a shame giving it to the police. Any tips?

Feedback might have been more substantial had any of your pictures been in focus... I can't tell much from them, though it looks like the rifle might have actually been made by Spandau in 1917. Which is not common, the vast majority of Spandau/17 marked rifles are made by others, though with these pictures it is pointless to speculate.

Try and do clear or in focus pictures, especially the markings on the barreled receiver and stock. These will tell what you have an its historical context.

I’ll do my best but it’s not easy.. Some markings are very hard to see which makes it difficult to actually show it. But i’ll try!

Try taking some pictures next to a window in natural light, or outside if possible. You'll find it is much easier to get clear focused pictures!
