Holes in stock

Hi

I got a K98 147 1940 with some holes in the stock, my guess is that one of the previous owner have been a hunter and that he mounted sling swivel where the holes are.

Question: what will people here on site do with suchs holes, leave them as they are and live with that, fill them somhow, or change the stock, or sell the rifle?

The stock is matching to the rest, except the bolt and the lock screws.

Thanks in advance

I would consider filling the small holes, but not the large one.... but would use something to mute the raw wood near the large hole...

Hi Bob, thanks for the answer.

Regarding the large hole, I do have some old stocks that is just scrap, I thought about to take a piece of the stocks for scrap and make it fit in the hole,
maybe enlarge the hole just a littlebit first, so it is nice round, then glue the piece in, and add a colour that match. Ofcourse you will be able to see the repair.
