QVE 45 Highest Serial Number

comparison

Johnny..if you look at my gun it would be great to get similar shots. Interested if proofed behind the triggerguard. The contour on your wrist area is different than mine. Your has the single side proof like mine.

Qve45

Here are the pics. I took it apart to get pics of the markings on the Barrel. Also, the inside of the stock is the same color as the outside, thats why I don't think it was oiled.

Thanks for posting.

Berlin Lubecker has always been consistent, all the way to the end, with very little variation throughout production.

QVE from ITALY

This currently is the highest SN known K43 QVE. I have this one on "temporary loan". Milled action cover and rqs mag. Note that there is only one side proof as is seen on other f block guns.

My QVE from Italian campaign has serial # 4849 c . Kind regards from Italy.

The qve45 I just got in the mail looks like L block, doesn't seem right? That's a lot later then the latest known. It is a VOPO but all german parts and german proofed rec/barrel.

Is it a script b I'm reading wrong? Pics later when I'm done work.

K and L block qve45 followed duv44, then started over at no letter and ended in the f block.

That explains it. Thx Farb. I figured I couldn't have had one that far away.
Ill post it up tomorrow.

Hi,

I actually have a higher serial number than the one you have posted. I have a QVE45 8981 F Block

I think the stock was oiled sometimes after the war - see the hole behind the trap door - so the stock matches the Durofol handguard in color.
A very fine rifle and the last recorded. Must have been made while British troops were nearby.

I believe that stock is nutwood not laminate. Possibly a replacement stock and hand guard post war. Nicely finished thou.

I guess time will tell if a later one will pop up somewhere. Just makes you wonder if that one is it, the last one made.
