Nice rifles, quality was very good, I have a 42. Front sight protector is a plus. Looks like it was used postwar by someone.

Thank you for your opinions!

The stock looks like lightly sanded, the stock is stamped with:

Right side:

H for Heer

WaA ???

WaA 80

Left side:

BK in a circle ( over the Takedown Disc )

2192 ( under the Takedown Disc, maybe Inventory oder Serialnumbering postwar? )

Barrel Channel:

4366 + Suffix ( hard to see what suffix it could be )

I think it is an Original G 24 (t) stock, not matching to the rest of this rifle.

Stock was postwar used somewhere.....

Yes the buttstock is too G24(t) but later as WaAA80 proofed, mostly g range it looks in channell, anyway parts proofed BK are yugoslavian new production probably on upper ring P for Preduzece in trapez, reserialed to a new serial is the buttstock 2192, b.r.Andy

I would expect a walnut stock in the b-block and cartouche as shown...

Thanks for the picture reference to an matching B Block G 24 Stock!

My Stock has no Serialnumber on the underside.

Was there a point in production where was a position change from the underside to the barrel channel for the Serialnumber?

By the way, here is a picture from the BK Marking....

Thanks to you all fot the input!

parts proofed BK are yugoslavian new production

Not necessarily. They're also found on original Model 1924 stocks that were reworked into 24/47 rifles. It's a standard military inspection stamp ('Voina Kontrolla').

Thanks for your note to the BK-Markings!

So it should be legit, that a Original G 24 Stock received this Marking for Yugo postwar use.

Hi Daniel,
Correct.
As you know, it's a mis-matched example, but it is very interesting how many original markings were retained on both the stock and the bolt. After the war, the Communist government of Yugoslavia directed the collection, sorting and assessment of all arms in the country, and began to rework several models of rifles, most notably the K98k's, Yugoslav Model 1924 variants, Czech VZ-24s and German G.24(t) rifles. The VZ-24 and G.24(t) rifles were reworked (mostly cosmetic and obliteration of original markings) into the 'M.24-52C.' It is highly unusual for a rifle like yours to retain this many original markings, and as far as I'm concerned that makes your rifle more desirable than a 'typical' M.24-52C.

In addition to its many original German markings, your stock also has a Yugoslav inspection marking on the underside, just behind the trigger guard.

Best,
Pat

BK could be only army proofing, but the "cyrilic P" trapez stamp is a Preduzece marking on upper ring, so i would preffer see it on new production parts, as is on M48 bayonets too. But maybe i am wrong here, i would expect remains of old serial by only refurbishing metall. b.r.Andy

Thank you all for the mass of information to this example an the general marking of G24 (t) Rifles and the refurbishing methods post war!
