jwh 43

Here is the second bayonet, a jwh 43. I have only run across one other and it looked like it had been refinished. This one looked looked right to me and I have always wanted this maker. Hopefully I can find an example for the other years. I am going to oil the pommel and the scabbard but the rest really looks really good. Like the chunky wood grips.

Pictures of the frog

Took too many pictures so I had to add the pictures of the frog. There is a makers mark but I can't read it. The frogs are a bonus but the bayonet is what I focus on. Just to add information on the bayonet, it appears that the bayonet release button is numbered but I don't have enough hands to depress it and take a picture.

Frog marking is FR. OFFERMANN & SÖHNE > BENSBERG > 1940 for the firm of Friedrich Offermann and Söhne, Bensberg

The fact that you could make that out from a picture, especially my picture, truely amazes me..
