Need help with barrel marking

I recently acquired a 1940 660 marked rifle, which I understand was made by Styre in Austria. There are markings on the barrel, 38 40 BO that I need help in identifying, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I concur. Should be something else on the wrap around indicating who finished it

Thanks for information

Thanks for the input on the marking. Rifle was additionally marked with 660 indicating Stryre build. All serial numbers match down to the screws on the trigger plate. Unfortunately a previous owner put a sportster stock on the rifle, wish they left the original wood. Appreciate the feedback, I am sure I will have other questions as I break it down to clean it up.
