My First K98, byf 43

Even though I never fire any of my collectibles, I did repair the duffle cut on my BYF43. As I said in my email to you with the pics, the key is placing a shim between the pieces to exactly match the kerf cut of the saw cut. It is important to insure the band spring fits correctly. As I had said. I believe this repair is the strongest part of the stock now! I used stainless steel ribbed pins, hollow brass ferule with ribs (for cleaning rod) this will hold the epoxy for a better grip. Just use Hambones method and take your and I am sure you can do it.Ron

I didn't see it in the pics, but if done according to Hambones instructions it will not be noticeable as it isn't really noticeable now. Just my opinion.

Excellent byf43, I too have one though mine is in the f suffix block. Walnut stocks show up a lot in the f-h blocks. I even have a spare stock for one if I find an action needing one. congrats.
