    Default AX 1940 shrapnel damaged

One of the few I bought a shop, probably overpaid but I sure did like it. The shrapnel is still buried in the stock, just the damage alone to think what that could have done. The impact on the stock was quite great. It is all matching right down to the screws.

Thats really cool, and interesting, especially with the shrapnel still in the stock. Plus its an ax, not easy to find to boot. It would be a keeper to me.

I have an enfield with shrapnel damage and a chunk of shrapnel still embedded...I like it plenty too...

George, that's very cool. I had a shrapnel damaged Port contract rifle diverted to German use. Still had the small shards of shrapnel in the stock. This one is much more interesting as it has a good sized piece. I wouldn't doubt if that was taken off a dead soldier. Pic stickied.

Great find George. You very rarely see one those. You're a lucky guy to have it in your collection.
