This mount appears to have to my untrained eyes metal work done in the area where the matching to rifle numbers were added to the mount.

The auction went for $5500

Yes very fake. You can tell metal was removed by the difference in color not too mention surface wear. Shame really looks like an original mount that was ruined by a greedy asshole.

Yeah we covered this auction on Dave's forum. The mount is legit with fake numbering, shame as it was probably a late unnumbered mount.

A mount near 2K is now is worth 1/3. Thank you bubba. How much more value brings a paired vs unpaired. I know ~5000+ for untouched one, how about paired?
