Another BSW 39 marked Luftwaffe Depot Build

Hello all,

Here is the rifle recently discussed, as mentioned it is a Luftwaffe Depot build using a donated BSW 39 receiver with the typical "i", "1", "c" marked parts. It is completely matching minus the bolt. Stock is numbered externally and internally, both the stock and the handguard have a "c" stamp. Screws proofed or numbered. Bore is in nice, shiny condition. The bluing has a purple hue, especially under the woodline and exaggerated slightly by the camera flash. The rifle will be at home next to my Luft depot rifle using a recycled DWM receiver but otherwise virtually identical in markings. Can't get enough of BSW or Luftwaffe rifles. Even though the receivers are mostly from the BSW/Gustoff family, who is the accepted manufacturer of these rifles, was the "Depot" a satellite factory belonging to or run by one of the 98k producers or is there a particular Depot Name utilized to represent the manufacturer?

Comments welcome.

Thanks,
Diehard

I am new to the k98 hobby but I do know a beautiful rifle when I see one . Thanks for sharing the fantastic pics and history !!

:hail:

..was the "Depot" a satellite factory belonging to or run by one of the 98k producers or is there a particular Depot Name utilized to represent the manufacturer?

The supposition is Luftzeugamt 4 was a standalone depot in Küpper bei Sagan east-northeast of Dresden in what is now Poland. Looks like a typical Geco supplied barrel and the usual mix of contract spares. Another sweet rifle! Thanks for sharing.

Nice looking rifle. It's a shame that they story leading up to it was a mess. Very good gun though.

Have you posted up the DWM?
