Rifle is matching except for missing rear sight parts. Stock is numbered in the barrel channel. I appreciate that this one has not been modified for stripper clips.
Also has the "early" style lock screws.

Sorry, I just realized I put this in the wrong forum, can a Mod. move it to the Imperial Forum?

I agree its a very nice matching rifle with the new type barrel upgrade. does it have the dust cover with clip ejector spring?

I agree with the others, damn difficult to find such a rifle these days (always has been difficult actually); not sure which I like more, the rifle or your dog!

I will move it to the Imperial forum, though I doubt many study the fine details of this variation, not sure who K.K is though undoubtedly the steel maker. Can you do clear pictures of the stock markings? I see the receiver markings indicating it is a 88/S, but wondering if the stock possesses a C/S also?

Storz covers these a little, though I think Joe Steen did a better job in 2009, I will see if i can put up JS's article up later, both here and my website, but in the meantime try and do a few clearer pictures if you can?

Nice rifle Frank! (you should come around more often)

Thanks Paul, I could be convinced to part with the rifle, the dog has a home for life.
I tried to get better photos of the stock markings, but they are not very crisp. One is Crown/B, not sure on the others. I did go ahead and capture the stock serial number.
This is the only Gew. 88 I have that is matching, other than one that has a forced match bolt, and who knows when/where that was done. To bad the sight parts are missing.
These rifles don't get much love, and I think that is unfortunate, but it keeps them cheap.
I may start to migrate over here from Gunboards, my "nonsense" is no longer appreciated over there :)

Wholeheartedly agree on the dog and gunboards. I saw where your efforts at reasoned argument fell on deaf ears and ridiculous replies.

These nicer rifles are not as cheap as they once were, these are finally getting a good following when nice and original. Seen some good prices for nice rifles, but the junkers are still going for what they are worth, though if I had the inclination I would buy some of the nicer ones for parts. There was a time 20-30 years ago that the G98 was much the same, the parts lag but as the rifles become popular the parts will be more desirable (for restorations).
