Help to identify Radom magazine please

Here are some additional pictures of the Radom magazine I am asking help with to determine if it is an original wartime, late war uncommmon variety or if it is a post war aftermarket manufactured type. I appreciate the knowledge of more advanced Radom collectors on this forum.

Anybody else have any idea on this magazine? Too me it looks post war but new information has come out over of the years so it may be correct?

Best place to post it is Jan Stills of gunboards. I have not seen everything but this like a repro. I suspect the seller just did not know. Happens all the time. It never hurts to have another half dozen folks in the know to opine.

That said, I doubt Farb or ever me got this one wrong.

If it was my pistol I would find another mag, one of the common variations.

I hope you guys work it out. Best to both of you.

I agree, post it to Jan Still's Luger forum in the foreign pistol section. The guy that wrote the book on Radom pistols is a member there. To me, the accepted original magazines (late type) are the 2 that I posted, with the stamped P.38 follower type the last ones made by Steyr. Radom pistol production was very small at the end of the war, and pressured by bombing and mismanagement IMO, but magazines are not an easy thing to revamp.

In my personal opinion, even the clear phosphate late P.38 magazines are made identical to other mags, so I would expect any subcontracted magazine to follow the pattern of manufacture set forth by Steyr. If Steyr didn't simplify the pattern, why would anyone else be allowed to? Lets see what others say though, I've been known to be wrong before and openly admit I couldn't tell you one way or another if that pattern magazine is legit - it is nearly identical to postwar reproductions though.

As suggested, I posted all the pictures on the foreign pistol section of the Jan Stills Luger forum on Gunboards. Thanks for the advice.

It appears that someone in early May posted pictures of the same magazine I purchased and posted pictures on the same section under foreign pistols. It has the same “damage by screwdriver” on the follower that the seller here on this forum claimed I was responsible for and refused to refund me. I encourage any member interested to read the post and look at the pictures and conclusions on the Jan Still forum.

The mag is a late one and not very common. The return wouldn't have been a problem if you hadn't screwed-up the follower making it unsalable and then tried to get a refund before I saw the damage. Your tracking number is 9500 1119 3413 8146 2861 45. When you receive it, please post more detailed photos of its construction and the proof on top of the toe. The world wonders...

It appears that you sold this same magazine to Johnbhm of Alabama who posted pictures of it on 5/3/18 on the Jan Still forum under foreign pistols. His photographs clearly show the "so-called screwdriver damage" you blamed me for. The damage was on the follower before I even purchased it from you and his pictures and date prove that. Like I said all along, I did not damage your magazine. I returned it because I felt it was not an original as you insisted it was. You then falsely accused me of damaging the follower and called me all sorts of disparaging names. I am the one who has integrity while yours is certainly in question when the same magazine was previously returned to you by an experienced Radom collector and then immediately sold to me as late war, rare and original. Johnbhm returned it due to his beliefs and other collectors, that it was a reproduction post war magazine, yet you think they are all wrong and sell it to me knowing experts are leaning on it being reproduction post war manufactured. oldcorps, I would greatly appreciate an apology here and on other forums the you tarnished my good reputation over.

He certainly owes you one. No doubt he (oldcorps) tried to pull a scam on you and was caught red handed!

I see the "screwdriver damage" to the follower from those old photos as well, very interesting. I'd say calling you a "scammer" was out of line, and the magazine was actually in that condition when you got it. Will we see some sort of apology for that?

I really don't think he is going to respond or even show up again since he has been outed as a fraudster. The evidence against him is just too strong.
