Here is a Luger that is sure to have a interesting story. Reportedly brought home after WWII and I picked up from local sale in the mid 90’s. It has two WWII era mags and a 1918 holster. Odd part is the metal spring holding the side plate?

It’s a ‘sear safety’ modification...here’s a short description I found.

“ It is a piece of spring steel riveted on the frame that has a pin which blocks the sear bar from moving unless the trigger is pulled. On early Lugers the sear bar was partially exposed. Pressure on the sear could make it fire unintentionally. This was later alleviated by relieving the sear "cutting it back further" however it still could go off if something got under the side plate.”
