I would proof a ultraviollet light test firstly, as the piece looks like a storage, never used, or minimum use. When real so the knot color could be changed the color in years? How is stamped the S84/98 bayonet, any additional pictures? thanks.b.r.Andy
Don´t think so.
It could be a troddle for a third batallion, because of the golden or yellow "Stengel", but probably a repro from here:https://www.hessenantique.com/Army_Model_p/2119201.htm
To identify the troddle you have to take the photos outside without flash or direct sunlight. And please show us also pics from the eye.
