Late Phosphate CZ-27

Repo Field Gear Collector
I picked this one up a while back to go with an evolving small Czech collection. I already had a dual tone manganese phos and plum slide, but it was a 1944 and I wanted a LATE one, so I grabbed this one, thanks again to Tiger. I spotted a later one locally a few weeks ago but it had issues so this one stays. I like the mix of phosphate and strawed parts, I suppose this is simply the coincidental effect of tempering rather than an attempted final look. Look how rough the slide milling is on the bottom flats and the hammer as well! Always wanted a late phosphate 27, really happy with this one.

Super condition

Nice phosphate..grip screw and hammer are straw. I have a late one with a straw trigger.

Thanks and that’s awesome! I bet that looks pretty cool. Yeah phos trigger on this of course, hammer, extractor and pivot pin are too, I think that’s it. Now time for an early one for a little juxtaposition!

Its a beauty in hand! Makes me wish I didn't sell my late war phosphate to Jackson's....

I have the real nice early one too....quite a juxtaposition when they are side by side....

Those photos turned out well. It was a good sale and I’m glad it found a good home to a collector who will appreciate these. Of special note is the grip. No bottom chips at the mag well! These seem to be getting harder to find without the chipped grip.

CZ’s were getting my collection a little off track to what my main focus is on right now; P.38’s, late ac stamped PP’s, late blank slide 1935 model Beretta pistols and G/K.43’s. If I get another CZ-27 some day it will probably be a mid-war purple slide type. I’ve seen a few of these purple slide CZ’s and they really stand out.

Now you just need to find a phosphate mag to go with it. That was a goal of mine for this pistol at one point but I never did run across a nice one.

FYI and you probably already know this; but, according to the book “German Pistols and Holsters 1934-1945” by Robert Whittington, the highest serial number on these is #479607.
