I just purchased a K98 sniper(or at least it was labeled as such), just wondering what you guys think? I’m new to the sniper scene and figured why not join the forum and get informed. Thanks all

This rifle is not a WWII sniper made by any German K98k manufacturers. But if you didn't pay much it still has some value as a shooter. Welcome to the forum. Stick around here is you want to learn about any WWII German rifles.

A little over $1200, I couldn’t find any info on the scope anywhere. I’m kinda down about it not being a true sniper but it’s a cool firearm anyways, it’s German and shoots 8mm what could be better.

I will definitely stick around, German firearms are my passion and then really anything else. Thanks for responding to my original post and not beating me up over a fabricated sniper. Thanks again

Learn from it and do the research before you pull the trigger next time. If you wanted it to appear more like an actual variant you might be able to have a smith convert it to a turret set up.

What would be involved in attempting to convert it to a turret setup and any recommendations on a smith? Sorry in advance for the probably self explanatory questions.

It would be very easy to buy a set of repro low turret rings and bases and have a good gun smith set it up. You want someone who is good with scopes. I would recommend a guy here (Vaughen99). Price is not bad for a shooter/repro example. True K98k snipers bring big money. Check out my website in my signature if you want to learn more.

Vaughn99, I don't believe there is an "e" before the n.
