Here is a group of German Soldiers with a Russian Sniper Rifle. Looks like it was taken in Russia on the Eastern Front. Pretty neat picture.

Great photo!

Looks to be around winter of 43 at least. So that rifle probably had by that point already had quite a story.

Soldier on the left seems to wear a single button M43 cap. Second from left with a TK (skull)?

It could be a 1942 Tula or Izhevsk Mod. 38. So not too much time in the field yet.

Could be, but blueing looks almost worn off on the scope and stock looks pretty rough for 1 year, even though the OF was a meat grinder. Guess we'll never know.

Thanks, but I do not see what you are describing on the original photo in regards to the second soldier on the left.
 
Might be, might be not.
BTW: I only know the single button M43 caps from Luftwaffe and Waffen-SS.
Anything on the boards?
