When you disassemgble a mauser bolt,
be it what ever mfg, German, Swedish, American '03's, the flag safety shaft on the end has the tip milled to semi-cylindrical, this rolls into the notch on the back of the bolt body and locks the action. This semi-cylindrical portion is broken off this numbered part, thus the action won't lock when the flag is flipped to the right, 180 degrees from ready/fire position. I doubt I'd find an "80" safety flag to replace this part, thus the question if a gunsmith could build this back up and mill appropriately. The effort it's taking to type this with my cervical neuropathy (10 f'in minutes and I still have typos) has convinced me that "tho it's broke, I'm not gonna fix it as it functions fine as a safety. I do plan on shooting this weapon, otherwise what's the point?
